I have worked in a variety of positions in professional settings.
Designing VR educational simulations for job training and hands-on skills development. Currently working with Unity and in-house frameworks to create new VR simulations. Worked as XR Designer on over 20 currently released VR simulations (as of August 2023).
Collaborating with Instructional Designers to create designs and associated documentation for production of educational VR simulations.
Prototyping VR experiences, concepts, and interactions with ShapesXR VR prototyping tool.
Creating a variety of design artifacts to help teams conceive and codify VR interaction strategies: basic animations for UX conversations, VR ready 3D environments with notes and documentation, written summaries and step-by-step instructions for programming implementation, as well as countless images (screenshots of prototypes, diagrams, etc).
Created tutorials, video and documentation for in-house processes and tools. Was tasked to help develop new processes for VR tool use and on-board non-technical users live and via video tutorial.
Programmer and prototyper in Unity for a medical oriented educational app developed by Yale and funded by the NIH
Worked with back end engineer to implement a Unity front end for a REST API providing interactive content
Worked with an animator to implement animated illustrations inside Unity app, based off of user choices and information
Taught “Fast Fun: Physical Controllers for Unity” at the graduate level twice, and guided students in the creation of game controllers for Unity applications
Leveraging simple circuits and easy communications protocols, students created multiple, effective prototypes for physical controllers
After a successful first class in 2021, was invited back in 2022 and asked to run an additional undergraduate version of this class called "Making Physical Game Interfaces"
Taught Multimedia Programming I (MMP210), level one course introducing students to Javascript using the p5js programming library
Multimedia Programming II (MMP310), level two course continuing with Javascript programming concepts using the p5js programming library
Creative technologist, consultant, project manager and R&D programmer for a yet to be announced location based, musical smartphone app experience
Consulted on early software, hardware, and artistic decisions, with a prototype for successful funding pitch written in Javascript
Project management for technical team to initiate project launch
Research and development prototype coded in Unity, using cross platform smartphone app to detect bluetooth beacons
Personal research and development culminating in "Grounded", a piece shown at the Recent Possibilities show June 2019
Ran office hours and consulted with student body for technical and conceptual advisement
Assisted ITP teachers and faculty with classes
Ran workshops on repurposing discarded wires and cables, creating MIDI controllers
Adjacent, June 2018. Wrote an article for ITP NYU's academic journal "Adjacent", found here:
"Awful VR and the Beauty of Premature Tech"
Recent Possibilities, Collab NYC June 2019. Presented "Grounded", a series of four interactive installations made using Arduino, Max MSP, and Processing.
Liminal Instruments, Whitebox NYC July 2018. Presented "monumoment", a virtual reality sound sculpture made with Unity and Oculus Rift.
Presented at Mumbai NMIMS School of Design for Processing Community Day
Presentation and workshop at Bangalore Srishti Institute of Art, Design and Technology
Discussed using p5js for musical performance and sound art, while introducing granular synthesis and Pauline Oliveros' "deep listening" concepts
Taught a workshop at Coalition for Queens (C4Q) on creating physical computing prototypes using MIDI
Developed a single session class about making Arduino boards into class compliant MIDI devices
Covered internal pullup resistors, Javascript MIDI libraries, and rapid prototyping ideation for physical computing concepts
Sound Design in collaboration with Jillian Barkley for her installation "Inflorescence" at Lightbox Gallery
Produced a twenty minute soundscape that was looped in the gallery
Consists of synthesizers, found recordings of record static, and field recordings I made in Prospect Park
Adjunct Teacher for Manhattan Community College, Media Arts and Technology Department
Intro to Multimedia (MMP100) is an introductory course that exposes students to concepts of Digital Imaging, Animation and Video, Audio, Web Development, and Programming
Taught students Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects, Audacity, HTML, CSS, and Javascript using p5.js library using a project based approach. >
Graduated from New York University Tisch School of the Arts, with a MPS in the Interactive Telecommunications Program.
ITP is a multidisciplinary program that has been described as "the Center for the Recently Possible." There is a combination of hardware, software, art, design, and communications.
In my first year I have gained experience in my physical computing abilities, continued to learn new programming libraries and frameworks, and expanded my artistic practice in both theory and technicality.
I have also freelanced and self taught many different technologies
